One of the most common causes for failure of a radiator is the
radiator valve is defective. You can change radiator valve in about
half an hour using the following methods.
How to change radiator valve
-
The first thing we will do is gather our tools.
- Tools needed to change radiator valve.
- Two Pipe Wrenches
- Spud Wrench
- heat gun
- Teflon Tape
- Sealant Teflon plumber, aka "Pipe Dope"
- Coarse steel wool and wire brush small
- Knife
- New radiator valve
- Safety gear: goggles, gloves,
Disconnect the radiator valve broken. Please remember that the nut
is being removed from the radiator, not toward the valve. This will go
much easier if you use the heat gun to expand the member outside the
town you will be unscrewing and use a knife to scrape any uutility
painting was during the common.
Take off the valve supply line and insert the key Spud. If
possible, you must use two keys at a fitting unscrewed. Use a wrench
on the valve removed and the other to keep the stable supply pipe, to
prevent the pipe Getting folded by removing the valve. That the
installation that connects the valve body is a radiator
cabinet. Delete using key Spud, by adjusting the grooves on the side
of the key cabinet with a pair of bumps in the Spud.
Use a pipe wrench along with the key Spud. Make sure to use the
heat gun to heat the radiator to remove the cabinet easiest. Now we
have finished with the old valve. Use a knife, steel wool to clean
things up by getting rid of any corrosion or paint around the joint or
son.
Unplug the new cabinet and screw the new valve and packing boxes
son with Teflon plumber's tape. Place a pipe dope on top of the band
and put in the new cabinet and nut using the key box and pipe. Ensure
that the nut is on the right of the box before installing the
cabinet.
Use the tape and plumber's putty in the net supply pipe and then
install the new valve by the same two key method that we used to
remove the old one. Tape and add putty to the son of the union which
is connection between the cabinet and the valve and tighten the
nut. Wipe excess sealant and you're done!
