If you are afraid to change radiator hose, then let me tell you that replacing a leaking pipe of radiator can be easy and quite painless on most cars. To Change radiator hose first thing you have to do is check both ends of the leaking pipe and see that they are easily accessible because on some cars the pipes are well hidden and this work might be better left to a professional.

Things you need:

• WD-40 Silicone Spray

• Large saucepan or Wide Bucket

• New Radiator Hose

• Antifreeze

• Knife

• Funnel

• Flathead Screwdriver

Step 1. Turn off the engine whenever you suspect a leak, to prevent engine overheating.

Step 2. Determine radiator hose leaking and exactly where the leak is.

Step 3. Purchase 1 gallon of antifreeze and the correct replacement hose radiator from local auto parts store or dealer. They come in all sizes and shapes to suit your model of car.

Step 4. Wait for engine to cool for at least 20 minutes before starting any work on the cooling system. Place a large pot or bucket on the ground under the pipe to catch the Spilled coolant. Use a screwdriver to loosen the clamps at both ends of the pipe being replaced.

Step 5. Remove the hose from the radiator by turning and pulling where it connects to the radiator and engine. If the hose does not move, use a knife to cut the fittings.

Step 6. Remove the clamps of radiator hose and pull the hose down.

Step 7. Place the new hose on the radiator again. Spray the inside of the pipe ends with WD-40 if the hose is difficult to board. Tighten the clamps.

Step 8. Fill the tank and radiator coolant with a 50-50 mixture of water and antifreeze. Run the engine with the radiator cap off until the engine warms up. Check whether the upper and lower radiator hoses feel hot (indicating that the thermostat is open and the coolant circulates throughout the system). This allows bubbles of air to escape. Add more coolant to radiator, if needed. Look for leaks. Inspect around clamps for moisture. Tighten clamps if clammy and place the radiator cap. This way you can change radiator hose.

Step 10. Check level of coolant after driving, to ensure there are no leaks.
